Introducing our new Executive Director!
The East Cleveland Neighborhood Center Board of Directors
is pleased to announce that Jerome M. West will assume
responsibilities as the new Executive Director effective
August 19, 2019. Our current Director, Maxine Landers,
will assist with Mr. West’s transition and retire at the end of
Mr. West has a wealth of experience in revitalizing urban
education and health systems through evidenced-based
strategies, culturally relevant best-practices, and prevention
education. The goal of his leadership is to help individuals in
underserved communities develop strengths and resiliency.
Mr. West was recognized as one of Stark County’s up and coming leaders in 2017 and served as Program Director of The Grace Initiative, a minority centered prevention and behavioral health program designed to inspire individuals to be emotionally healthy and maximize resilience. He has held positions as an Addiction and Wellness Coordinator, Adjunct Professor, SAMHSA Grant Reviewer and was Dean of Student Affairs for the Canton City Schools Adult Career and Technical Center. Mr. West has two Masters’ Degrees in religious education and counseling, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Management and Associates of Applied Science Degree in Human & Social Services. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate Degree in Behavioral Health at Freed-Hardeman University. He holds certification as an Ohio Certified Prevention Consultant, Internationally Certified Prevention Specialist, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III and Registered Social Work Assistant. We are excited to bring his expertise, talent, and vision to the East Cleveland Neighborhood Center and look forward to introducing him to our valued clients, community associates, and network partners.
